General Overview
Our Triple Crown Academy certified trainer will train your dog for you while you are away! Just drop your dog off for boarding or daycare and let us do the rest.  When you come to pick up your dog, you will have a fresh start with him. You will receive a “go-home” lesson so you can learn what your dog has learned and how to use it.  We also provide follow-up lessons to go over any issues you may be having at home during the first couple of weeks following training.
Our programs are 2 or 4 weeks in length. The 2 week program is the “Intro to Board and Train”. Your dog will learn basic obedience commands, but will not have the reliability that the dogs in the full program end up with. The full 4 week program allows the dogs the time to learn the skills to a much higher degree. The basic obedience skills taught will help counter many of the common behavior problems that occur at home, such as jumping, pulling on the leash, begging at the table, and coming when called. 
Board & Train can also be used to work on specific problems your dog is having, such as aggression, anxiety, fearfulness, etc. We will provide a free behavioral evaluation for any dog in Board & Train.

Program Specifics
2 week program: Intro to Board ‘n Train  The dogs will be taught sit, place and heel.  The level of accomplishment is based on each individual dog.  Each dog will be given a minimum of 45min sessions/day, 5days/week.  A “go-home” lesson is provided to the IKT dog owners.  This is when owners are taught what the dog knows and how to reinforce the behaviors at home.  Also, there will be one 45min private lesson scheduled for 1-2wks after the dog has gone home to help with any problems/questions the owners may be experiencing.

4 week program: Professional Board ‘n Train  Dogs will be taught to sit, place, heel, and introduced to down and recall.  The level of accomplishment is based on each individual dog.  However, the majority of dogs in the full IKT program are solid on sit-stays, place-stays, and heeling by the time they complete the program.  Many can even perform these behaviors with distractions.  Each dog will be given a minimum of 45min private training sessions/day, 5 days/wk.  A “go-home” lesson is provided to the owners. This is when the owners are taught what the dog knows and how to reinforce the behaviors at home. Also, there will be one 45min private lesson scheduled for 1-2wks after the dog has gone home to help with any problems/questions the owners may be experiencing. There is a 2nd private lesson included in this package for whenever the owner decides to use it.

Doggy Daycare “Play ‘n Train”:  The owner must bring the dog in for daycare a minimum of 4x/wk for 4 wks straight.  Each dog will receive 30-45min of private training sessions per day.  The owners will be given a progress report at the end of each week.  The owners will be instructed not to give the dogs any commands (sit, down, place, or heel) during this 4 week period (because they could potentially undo some training).  At the end of the 4 weeks, the owner will be given a “go-home” lesson and will be given a free follow-up lesson for 1-2 weeks later.
